The actor's plight is coming to the fore, barely two weeks after his contemporary, Baba Suwe, was hospitalised
Veteran Yoruba actor, Ojo Arowosoge, famously known as Fadeyi Oloro, has been hospitalised over an unknown ailment.
A viral video has been making the rounds on social media, showing the actor pleading for help from Nigerians in a hospital room. He looked frail and was also inaudible in the video.
Unconfirmed reports claim the actor is battling a kidney-related ailment.
The actor was a popular fixture in the 80s and 90s home videos for his herbalist roles in Yoruba movies and television soaps like ‘Arelu’ and ‘Yanponyanrin’.
He is currently being hospitalized at Ile Epo General Hospital, Lagos.
The disclosure led to an outpour of love and support by his fans and colleagues.
The actor’s plight is coming to the fore, barely two weeks after his contemporary, Baba Suwe, was admitted at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, over an unknown ailment.
When PREMIUM TIMES contacted the national president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan, he expressed displeasure over the development.
He said, “There are channels to be taken before posting such things on the internet. As the national president of TAMPAM, I should be briefed about such things. I have no comments about this matter. Thank you.”
Meanwhile, Mr Amusan has also said the association is working on placing members on health insurance to avoid embarrassments.
Speaking to NAN on Friday, the actor, who is popularly referred to as Mr Latin said a seven-member committee has been set up to proffer solutions to most of the problems encountered in the industry, while the association would ensure their suggestions are implemented.
He listed the committee members as Antar Laniyan, Peju Ogunmola, Adebayo Tijani, Muyiwa Ademola, Razak Ojopagogo and Femi Adebayo, with Odunlade Adekola, as chairman.
