Life coach preaches presentation of african values

There is a renewed call to Nigerians on the need to teach the rich African values to younger generations in an exciting way, with a view to preserving the cultural heritage of Africa through the power of literature.

These were disclosed by Serial Author, Life Coach and Communications Consultant, Beryl Ehondor, at a reading of her two new books: The Ant & the Pig and Pants Down, which according to her, were introduced with a view to addressing eroding values, such as untoward sexual behaviours, drug and alcohol abuse, depression and other societal vices, especially imbibed by children through improper channels.

In The Ant & the Pig, Ehondor explores the power of folktale, explaining why the Pig is the face of savings. “The book also highlights the value of savings, delayed-gratification, respect, hard work, teamwork and gains of togetherness in families. Core values in today’s society need to survive. The book will not only address basic moral issues among children but also in adults who need to enculturate strong societal values.”

She advised that parents should be mindful of what their children and wards are exposed to.
